On March 14, 2022 Owen Sound Council approved a pre-feasibility
study to determine the feasibility of building a new Art Gallery
building on the current site.
Architects from Moriyama & Teshima
Architects have been awarded the task of developing the feasibility
study for Council's approval. The sketches shown here are posted on the
firms website at www.mtarch.com. The
company has offices in both Toronto and Ottawa. Their website describes
their company as:
"Moriyama & Teshima is a team of architects, planners and
designers collaborating with visionary clients to build inspiring and
enduring spaces that transform communities and reinforce civic identity.
We believe that context underlies the spirit of every project."
Their conceptual design that more than doubles the size of the
existing facility to 31,000 square feet. As shown in their conceptual
drawings they strengthen the gallery’s public presence relocating the
main entrance and wrapping the lobby in floor-to-ceiling glass. |
